Have you every seen these black spots on your home and wonder what they are? It’s referred to as Artillery or Shotgun fungus. It’s a wood decaying fungus that is usually found in mulch around your home and makes it’s way onto the surface of your house. It’s not something that can be pressure washed off. The only way to remove this fungus is to scrub and scrap it off. If you notice any of these spots around your home it’s almost guaranteed it’s from your mulch beds or your neighbors. There’s no known treatment that I know of and I would be hesitant of anyone that tried to sell you such. Replacement of mulch with rock is the best solution but can be costly. Keepin mulch beds fresh by adding new mulch at least twice a year will help.
